Hosted by RSPB Hope Farm which will be affected by any major development
Anthony Browne MP met with representatives of Elsworth, Knapwell and Conington parishes on Friday 21 May to discuss concerns over the EWR proposals and the proposals made for building a new town of 10,000 houses south of Knapwell and Elsworth. We were pleased to learn that he had been speaking recently with Robert Jenrick (Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government) about over-development in South Cambs and we welcomed the indication given by Anthony that he would support the campaign to oppose the development of a new town north of the A428 just as he has previously championed the fight against Thakeham’s proposals to build a new town south of the 428 near Bassingbourn, Barrington and other villages.
Having previously championed the governments stance on the environment, we impressed on him the importance of the work done by the RSPB in championing wildlife friendly farming.
